chronology of us

fell in love summer of '99; left to travel the world nov '99; returned to England sept 2000; bought our first home may 2001; got married june 2002; began thinking about overlanding march 2003; bought land rover 200 tdi july 2003; planned departure date beginning june 2004.

reached cape town, may 2005; returned to uk june 2005, arrival of beautiful baby boy - jonny rift lees - feb 2006; conceived whilst in south africa at the end of our adventure, an eternal reminder of our trip. named after africa's great rift valley, the length and breadth we travelled stretching from ethiopia to mozambique.

who we are

claire was a project manager for a management consultancy near tower bridge. she is 31. always loved her holidays, as long as the sun was shining. still, she surprised everyone by packing in the day job to go off backpacking with a virtual stranger but has never looked back. claire now loves all things to do with travel & adventure.  is looking forward to the dream becoming a reality. 

andy was a dp manager in ealing broadway. he is 27. before meeting claire, he was more likely to be holidaying in majorca with his mates, than treking across the far flung corners of the globe. now loves travel and photography. trying hard to learn to be a passable mechanic. doesn't mind a pint of lager or two.
